MOVING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY

I don’t know if I have to do a research about this topic or just tell my side of the story. My close friends always tell that I’m a person who can easy make changes at my life which it’s true even though it’s really tough. I’m not actually a lot of time here (Brussels) but here some things you need to know no matter if you want to live abroad or just to see things from a different angle.

1) The departure

First things first, the departure is the most difficult part about leaving because you have to say goodbye to your friends and family which will lead to crying, for me at least, you have to be really ready if you don’t want the emotional part to hold you back.

2) The arriving

There are three scenarios here:

a)if you are moving alone you have to be more careful and more prepared than everybody else. You should have figure out anything ahead; like where are you go to stay, the amount of money you have and how are you going to manage it correctly.

bif you are moving with friends or family. If you are in this category the things are just like the first one but at least you have someone you love and trust.

c)the third one is if you already have someone there who will help you. If you are in this one you are luckier because at least you don’t have to worry about where you are going to stay which is the most important thing.

3) The language

The biggest problem of those who live abroad is that they are not familiar with the language. If you are lucky and you know the language then that’s not a problem for you. For the part of the people who don’t know the language they will have to spent the first months on learning it.

4) Don’t hate it from the begging

You have to see the positive on everything. You should not be moody or complain about everything. The most important thing is your position in the situation. You can try to find out about events, places etc. Wherever you are you CAN find the things you like. If you are open everything will be lovely, if not everything will be a reason to go back. This isnt only for abroad its for your hometown too.

5) New friends

Making new friends its more difficult than ever in this point of your life. In this situation there is not a recipe but theres a tip PUT YOURSELF OUT THEREYou cant make friends if you are not the one who is going to do it.

6) Keep in touch with your friends back home

This is very important because they are the people who are going to stay by your side the whole time no matter what.

Let us know what you thing in the commments below and what do you want to see next.
